Triggered is a five-minute film that explores domestic violence through the lens of Mya, a 30 something, low-income, impulsive, Black butch, who has just broken up with her long-time girlfriend but is unable to let go of the relationship. Seeing her ex with a new lover triggers something in Mya that causes her to lose control. Flashbacks of being abused by her own mother crowd her thoughts. Feeling hopeless, she finds herself at the home of her ex-lover, not knowing what to do.
